How to pilot the equipment from a distance ?

Once the equipment is connected to the Ethernet network, locate it on your 'local' PC then create a shortcut pointing at the location D:\ =› '\\d:\spirale3\tbord.exe'.

When the equipment is functioning, you will just have to launch the shortcut to start a Spirale session in remote control mode.

There is a 'printer' output on the equipment, what are the possibilities to print tests outside the technical premises ?

There are several solutions :

• Remote pilot the equipment (refer to above question) and use your usual printer.
• Start the printing on a network printer (equipment connected).
• Install on your unit the office version of ProgWin and VisuWin (programmes editor and tests manager) and after having transfered the equipment files with the USB key, print them.

Our network administrator does not accept any network connection from a PC which is not protected by an ANTIVIRUS. What can I do ?

Antivirus MUST NOT be installed on the chamber control PC.

A key locking flap forbids the access to the disk drive as well as to the USB connectors. This solution is often accepted by network administrators.

Does a tool to write a programme on one's working unit and transfer it later on the equipment exist ?

Yes, the office version of ProgWin enables it. You must however check that the chosen programme model corresponds to the destination equipment.

A USB key is to be used for the transfer.

Can a programme in progress be modified ?

Of course, provided that the programme modification occurs later to the current functioning point.

In the recording in 'Full screen' mode : menu Actions then Modify the programme.

Can the remote control of a network connected equipment be prevented while having watching functionalities ?

Setting specific passwords for the network enables the functionalities to be limited while keeping the equipment watch running.

The connection can also be blocked.

In case of a PC hard disk failure, is it possible to restore it and how ?

Our Service Department and you have all needed elements to get your equipment functioning again.

The 'computer pack', supplied with the chamber, is composed of the operating system, the system drivers as well as the Spirale 3 CD with a customization settings floppy disk.

We remain at your disposal to supply you, as soon as possible, with a preloaded spare disk (set on rack).

We keep a database of the equipments back-ups when leaving factory, which is updated every time maintenance technicians come.

You also have the possibility with Spirale 3 to regularly carry out this back-up.

Is it possible to replace the regulator of my old environmental chamber (of a different brand) by a Spirale 3 control system ?

After a study, 'retrofit' solutions can be proposed and take charge of the equipment by giving it comfort and performances.

How can I use the customer logic channels to supply my products in test and guarantee their safety in case of problem with the equipment ?

The 2 components to consider are the 'secure plug' and the 'thermal fuse'.

• The first one is essential for the supplying chain of your products (command). It is guarantor of the equipment functioning (no alarm, chamber running).
• The second (which must be wired in series with the first) enables to calibrate a temperature threshold over which the tested products would be in danger.

What should I do when an error message is displayed on the screen ?

Spirale 3 has, for the chamber part, alarm messages that are well identified and listed in a 'log book'.

By passing this information to our Service Department, you will benefit by a rapid diagnosis. Moreover, if we have to intervene on your equipment, this diagnosis will enable us to prepare the intervention in an optimal way.

Can I upgrade my equipment from Spirale 2 to Spirale 3 ?

A case-by-case study is required.
